It sounds macabre. But when I say faceless portraits I mean images where the focus is somewhere other than the face. As humans we are naturally drawn to someone’s eyes and some of the most powerful images in the world are ones where the eyes draw you into the overall image.
Because of this, it can be a challenge to create powerful imagery without focusing on a person’s face.
My interest in this project is also because of my strong desire to protect my son’s privacy as he ages. I closely guard the images of him that I put out into the world, but I also want a way to demonstrate the feeling and movement of my day.
I hope this collection will show joyful days full of activity. I also hope I’ll be a better technician and storyteller through this challenge.Read More
